Fox Glacier Guiding has been providing excellent guided glacier walks since the early 1970’s.
The Fox Glacier is the longest glacier on the West Coast, and has its source in a massive ice field at the base of New Zealand’s highest mountains, from where it plunges 2,600 metres to near sea level. It is the best place in New Zealand to do a glacier walk, with a striking variety of ice forms, ice caves and glacier landscapes. Fox Glacier is also the least crowded of the West Coast glaciers, as Fox Glacier Guides have the only Department of Conservation concession to guide on the glacier.
Fox Glacier Guiding keeps their tour parties to a small size, and their enthusiastic guides provide excellent interpretation of the glacier’s many unique features.
A great variety of trip options is available to suit all budgets and fitness levels. These include several guided glacier walks (2hr to 8hr options) ice climbing (8-9 hrs) and heli-hiking.
Trips depart from the Fox Glacier Guiding base in Fox Glacier township, which is just a few minutes from our Holiday Park.
A full activities booking service is available at the Holiday Park reception.
