Gillespies Beach Walks & Seal Colony

A wild stretch of coastline strewn with river-borne rocks of predominantly schists and quartz.

This is great place to watch at sunset not only the sun sinking into the ocean but the mountains turning to gold. Legacies of mining times include a miners’ cemetery and hillocks of tailings. It’s only one minutes walk from the road end to the beach, but one hour return to the northern lagoon, 1 hr 40 min return to the Miners Tunnel and 3+ hours return to the seal colony.
